Chairman of Nasdaq's Asia Pacific Business Speaks at CorpStarter Annual Star Show
NEW YORK, Aug. 16, 2019 - CorpStarter presented its Seventh Annual CorpStarter Star Show, an annual conference and roadshow event, on August 16th at Deloitte’s New York headquarters at Rockefeller Center, featuring a keynote speech from Mr. Robert McCooey, Jr., Senior Vice President of Nasdaq’s Listing Services unit and Chairman of Nasdaq's Asia Pacific business. Ms. Penny Crone, former television and radio reporter, gave a special guest speech in the second half of the event.
Taoping (Nasdaq: TAOP), Ionix Technology (OTCQB: IINX), Future FinTech (Nasdaq: FTFT) and Teleplus HealthCare presented in the afternoon section of the event.
As 2019 marks the seventh anniversary of CorpStarter and tenth anniversary of its parent company Dragon Gate Investment Partners, Lijie Zhu, managing director of Dragon Gate Investment Partners welcomed all the guests and encouraged everyone to share their forward-looking perspective on emerging industries on the show.
Mr. Robert H. McCooey, Jr. delivered the keynote speech on how Nasdaq encourages entrepreneurs and welcomed all outstanding companies to list on Nasdaq. Mr. McCooey said that Nasdaq has always been supporting entrepreneurs around the world and providing them with financing support. In addition, he also predicted that more Chinese SMEs will go public in the US this year. Mr. McCooey is responsible for New Listings as well as Relationship Management with Nasdaq’s 3,500 listed companies in the Americas and throughout Asia Pacific.
The speech was followed by three thought-provoking panel discussions, featuring Tomorrow’s Classroom—Tradition meets EdTech, Power of the Future—Where Will the World Get Its Next Energy Fix and Memories from “100 - Year Finance” .
The second half of the event kept its focus on the exciting roadshows, presented by managements and representatives from Taoping (Nasdaq: TAOP), Ionix Technology (OTCQB: IINX), Future FinTech (Nasdaq: FTFT) and Teleplus HealthCare.
Praised by many attendees as the most fulfilling moment of the event, a fresh and compelling performance of opera excerpts from Madama Butterfly and Lakmé was given by Soprano Ms. Quan Chen, Tenor Mr. Cody Austin, and pianist Mr. Michael Fennelly .
An invitation-only cocktail reception and dinner party sponsored by Cushman & Wakefield was hosted at their office in Midtown Manhattan. It was attended by thought leaders, industry pioneers, influential investors, and CorpStarter families and friends.
A Hang Gliding Challenge wrapped up this year's event on August 17th in Middletown, NY.
