ChatGPT is a new artificial intelligence (AI) tool that’s designed to help people communicate with computers in a more natural and intuitive way — using natural language processing (NLP) technology. Shortly after OpenAI research labs unveiled ChatGP on Nov 30, 2022, the bot is making waves when it comes to all the amazing things it can do—from writing music to coding to generating vulnerability exploits, and what not.
Your wish is my command– What is the AI bot ChatGPT
ChatGPT is powered by GPT-3.5 series of models trained with text and code data on Azure AI supercomputing infrastructure. The AI’s capabilities have been driven up to deal with requests that can be odd, technical, abstract or specific. It is the latest evolution of the GPT – or Generative Pre-Trained Transformer – family of text-generating AIs.
By putting its advanced chatbot in public preview, OpenAI hopes to crowdsource feedback by learning from what all users ask ChatGPT and how well the technology performs.
Who made it?
The new AI is the latest chatbot from the Elon Musk-founded independent research body OpenAI foundation.
Musk co-founded the startup with other Silicon Valley investors including technology venture capitalist Sam Altman in late 2015, saying that the research centre would “advance digital intelligence in the way that is most likely to benefit humanity” according to a blog post at the time.
What you can do with it?
A key point to note is that the current preview is not connected to the internet, so any responses it returns are purely coming from offline trained models. Check out the cool things you can do with ChatGPT:
1. Debug your code, and have it fixed too!
2. Detect security vulnerabilities, create PoC exploits
3. Deploy a virtual virtual machine (VM)
4. Generate nmap scans
5. Write in the style of…
6. Write software—zero coding required
7. Reverse engineer shellcode, rewrite it in C
