Mayor of China’s Xuancheng City Speaks at CorpStarter™ Workshop


For its very first time, Corpstarter™ welcomed a Chinese Mayor to speak on its workshop series. Han Jun, the Mayor of Xuancheng city, led a six-member delegation to visit CorpStarter™ Workshop on Oct 10. Located in a tri-province area connecting Anhui, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang, Xuancheng is the hometown of President Hu Jintao.

Joining the discussion included Counselor Ye Dongbai from Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in New York, Dr. Daxi Li, chairman of Chinese Association for Science and Business, Ms. Lijie Zhu, managing director of Dragon Gate Investment Partners, Lian Brandt, senior audit manager of Baker Tilly, and guests from S&P Capital IQ, BNP Paribas, Thomson Reuters, among others.

The two-hour workshop started with a Xuancheng’s full-scale policy introduction for startups and oversea entrepreneurial talents. Guests brought up questions about sustainability of the city, industries that the city is focusing on, and beneficial policies for oversea startups to set up office in Xuancheng.

A dinner with Xuancheng delegation at Harvard Club midtown Manhattan followed. Dr. Alan Paau, vice provost of Cornell University, also joined the dinner.
